Resource Fair featuring the following AACOG & Partner Programs:
Weatherization Assistance Program – Energy Conservation measures to assist you in reducing electric and gas consumption. Applications accepted at the event. Applications must bring proof of citizenship or resident alien status, proof of gross income, and any financial assistance received for all household members over age 18. Acceptable proof includes:
- Proof of citizenship such as birth certificate and government ID or passport.
- Pay stubs from work for the last 30 days (at least two pay stubs if paid bi-weekly, four if paid weekly).
- 2017 Award letter for Social Security, annuity, and/or pension that includes monthly amount and shows type of benefits (ex: SSI/SSDI) received for current year.
- If receiving unemployment, child support, pensions, or other financial assistance - need official award/benefit letter showing the name of the recipient and the amount received currently.
- Self-employed individuals or persons paid in cash must complete notarized forms (ID required
- Copies of recent electric and gas bills clearly showing the account holder name and account number.
Alamo Area Agency on Aging – One-stop resource for referrals, information, benefits counseling, health and wellness, care coordination, and Ombudsman.
Services for Veterans and their Families – Call-a-Ride for Vets, Veteran information and referral services, Veteran Volunteer Program, Veteran & Military Community Council, and the San Antonio Coalition for Veterans and Families Information Program.
Air Quality – Facilitating alternative transportation through carpool matching and emergency ride home from work in case of an emergency services, notification system for air quality health alerts and tips for saving gasoline money and helping to keep our air clean and safe.
Alamo Regional Transit – Providing transportation for people of all ages within the rural AACOG region and into San Antonio.
Resource Recovery – Provides information on saving the environment and your money through reduction, reuse, and recycling.
Participating Organizations – Aetna, CASA of Central Texas, Catholic Charities, Pride PHC Services, Texas Department of Health & Human Services, Texas STAR/STAR+PLUS & Texas Health Steps, USDA, WellMed, Workforce Solutions Alamo, and YMCA/Schertz Senior Center.
